Gazprom Neft and the Spanish Repsol have signed a memorandum of understanding that defines areas of cooperation within the framework of a joint venture for the development of hydrocarbon deposits in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region, the Russian company says on Friday.

The Memorandum of understanding confirms the interest of the parties in the further development of the company Evrotek-Yugra, a joint venture Gazprom Neft and Repsol, but also documents the intention of the parties to study, acquire and develop licensed areas in the region adjacent to assets of Evrotek-Yugra.

Gazprom Neft acquired 25.02% stake in Evrotek-Yugra from Repsol. As a reference, Evrotek-Yugra owns seven licenses for the exploration and extraction of mineral resources in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region.
