Turkey is a very important partner of the United States in terms of efforts made to ensure energy security, U.S. Secretary of State and a former head of ExxonMobil, Rex Tillerson, said during the opening ceremony of the 22nd World Petroleum Congress in Istanbul.
He noted that the reason for that was that Turkey located on the routes of energy resources’ lying.
Rex Tillerson announced that the USA was waiting for an opportunity to get involved in projects with Turkey for the purpose of providing global energy security, such as the Southern Gas Corridor and projects from the East to the Mediterranean. These projects were aimed at ensuring the diversification of gas supplies to Europe, he stressed.
