China has allowed the regions to issue special bonds to finance the construction of toll roads, Xinhua agency said.
Provincial government are entitled now to sell such securities within the approved by the Federal government annual quotas, as it follows from a document published jointly by the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport of China.
The raised funds must be used for construction of public toll roads. A priority should be given to road projects of national level, as well as projects within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, the programs of coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and an economic belt of the Yangtze river.
