Gazprom began the construction of the second line of the Turkish Stream on the bottom of the Black Sea

As Vedomosti reports today, 20-25 km of underwater pipe has already been laid. Presently, the installation vessel is in the vicinity of Maly Utrish settlement.

The vessel moves at a speed of 0.1-0.15 knots per hour along the previously laid first line. It is said to correspond the velocity of laying a new pipe. The equipment is delivered by cargo ships.

The construction of the Turkish Stream’s first pipe-line has been announced officially yet. About 50 km of the pipe-line have already been laid via the bottom of the Black Sea.

To remind you, Russia and Turkey signed an international agreement on the Turkish Stream project on October 10th, 2016, according to which two mains with the capacity of 15.75 bln cubic meters each are to be constructed. One main will deliver gas to the Turkish market, the other — in transit through Turkey — to European countries.
