Japanese authorities recommended to evacuate mor than 20,000 residents of the northern prefecture of Akita due to the danger of flooding caused by stormy rains, Kiodo agency reports.




There is no information on injured or dead. More than 480 houses are flooded in 17 cities and settlements of the prefecture.

Heavy rains resulted in railway transport irregularities in the Akita prefecture.

The meteorological agency reported on high risks of flooding, landslides, high sea and strong wind caused by downpour.

To remind you, flooding and landslides in the prefectures of Fukuoka and Oita in the beginning of July led to death of 32 people, 10 people are considered unaccounted-for The amount of rainfall surpassed the monthly norm in one day, turning rivers into raging srteams.
