RF Vice-Premier Vitaly Mutko has inspected the work at the objects for the Football World Championship of 2018. According to him, the Volgograd Arena stadium is 70% ready, presently. The main thing for now is the grass plot, and it is important that a contractor should prepare the ground on time, the Vice-Premier mentioned.
According to the regional governor’s press office, the construction of the Volgograd Arena goes on within the schedule. In-situ concreting, tribune installation, the assembly of façade structures have already been completed. Engineering communications laying and pedestrian overcrossing construction are going on. At the same time glazing of the stadium is carried out, its area is 1,000 sq. meters.
The stadium is for 45,000 fans, it is located between the Mamaev Mount and the right bank of the Volga river in the place of the dismounted Central stadium. The cost of the contract totals 16.2 bln roubles ($2.7 bln). The construction is to complete in November, 2017.
