The Walkie Talkie sky-scraper was sold to the Hong Kong LKK Health Products company for £1.28 bln ($1.7 bln), Interfax reports referring to the press release of the former owners, Land Securities Group и Canary Wharf Group
The price of the sky-scraper is record for a building in the history of the London real estate market.
The LKK Health company focuses at the development and distribution of the traditional Chinese medicine’s products. The company founded about a hundred years ago includes also a department for realty and a mobile online platform.
The 37-storey Walkie Talkie sky-scraper is situated in the City of London. Its construction was completed in 2014, the cost totaled £474m. The area of the building is 671,000 sq. meters.
In 2015 the building was recognized the ugliest architectural project in Great Britain.
