The new bill draft of the USA on sanctions against Russia is unacceptable as affecting the interests of European companies

German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Gabriel, has told this to the German Spiegel.

According to him, the extraterritorial application of the sanctions against European enterprises is unacceptable. The sanction policy is not a suitable tool for promoting the national export interests and the national energy industry. Now the development of the situation depends on President Trump, he stressed.

To remind you, the bill draft involves sanction against entities intending to invest more than $5m a year or $1m lump-sum in the construction of the Russian exporting pipe-lines or provide the projects with services, technologies, or informational support to the construction of the North Stream 2 main.

On Thursday the bill draft was adopted by the Senate. Soon the document is to be sent to President Donald Trump.
