In January 2018, the volume of cement consumption in Russia amounted to 2.2 million tons, which is 3.5% higher than it was in the same period in 2017, a review of the Cement Producers’ Union shows, Interfax reports on Wednesday.
At the same time, cement production in Russia increased in January by 7.9%, up to 2.1 million tons. According to the report, the first month of the year enhanced the probability of further positive developments on the market, with the expected 3-percent growth in demand in 2018. In February, the volume of consumption is expected to see a 3-percent increase as well compared to the last year.
The experts note that the housing renovation program implemented in Moscow will become a positive factor both in a long-term and short-term perspectives.
