The German company Wintershall is going to allocate another 324 million euro this year to the implementation of the Russia-Germany gas pipeline project Nord Stream 2, the company’s Executive Board member, Thilo Wieland, told Russian media.

According to him, the same amount of money was allocated by Wintershall last year within the framework of the Nord Stream 2 financing agreement. In total, the project’s partners have invested €1.62 billion in the construction of the pipeline. Mr. Wieland added that the project participants fit into the funding schedule of Nord Stream 2.

The project is attractive for European banks and, at present, negotiations with export financing agencies are underway, the representative of the German company said.

The agreement with Wintershall on its participation in a long-term financing of Nord Stream 2 was signed last spring. Apart from the German company, Royal Dutch Shell, OMV, Engie and Uniper are the project’s partners.
