A unique greenhouse and orchard complex is under construction on the premises of the college No. 29 in the Russian city of Podolsk.
It is part of a bioenergetic complex operating on renewable energy sources. However, it is not professional builders but students and teachers of the college who are engaged in construction activities. The idea of creating such an unusual facility was initiated in a small training laboratory a few years ago.
The bioenergetic complex will operate completely autonomously. The light and heat will be generated from a renewable source of energy. This is a solar power plant with a storage, wind turbines, and biogenerators. The complex is divided into three climatic zones: subtropical, tropical and Russia’s moderate climate.
A variety of plants including exotic herbs and mushrooms are planned to be produced there.
