Swiss Sika Group to erect a building materials plant in Russia

Sika AG, a company based in Switzerland and specializing in chemical building supplies, intends to build a plant producing construction materials in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan.




The initial investment in the facility’s construction is estimated at 200 million rubles ($3,5 million), Expert Tatarstan reports on March 23. The main supplier of raw materials to the plant is likely to be PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, a local company which is one of Europe’s largest petrochemical groups.

As a reference, Sika AG has been operating in the Russian Federation since 2003. It has established its subsidiary in the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan. Now, the group is planning to erect a facility for the production of dry building mixes and water-soluble additives in concrete.
