American President Donald Trump expects to ensure that the construction of a wall on the US border with Mexico is funded from the Pentagon's budget.
The head of state voiced this idea at the beginning of March, in conversations with his advisers, as well as Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, the Washington Post reports.
Donald Trump justified his initiative by the fact that the erection of such a structure is a matter of national security. For this reason, he believes, all expenses for the construction of the wall that fences off two neighboring countries should be incurred by the Pentagon.
In Congress, the proposal of the US President was perceived with suspicion. Earlier, US congressmen approved the bill, according to which $1.6 billion was allocated to ensuring border security instead of $25 billion requested by Trump.
