Rinat Akhmetov, a famous Ukrainian billionaire, was stripped of his luxury apartments in the British capital because of debts to another entrepreneur from Ukraine, Dmitro Firtash, Russian media reports on Wednesday.
Akhmetov’s penthouse in London estimated at $136 million has been considered for a long time to be the priciest apartment in the city. We should remind you that in early January, a court in Cyprus froze Akhmetov's assets worth $820 million. According to Forbes, this is about one-fifth of the wealth of the richest Ukrainian businessman.
The court decision concerned a longtime dispute over the privatization of Ukrtelecom, Ukraine's largest telecommunications operator. In June 2017, London court ordered System Capital Management (SCM) company, founded and headed by Rinat Akhmetov, to pay Raga Establishment Ltd $760 million for Ukrtelecom.
