Starting from May 2018, a tax rate for gambling in the Moscow region will double, the head of the regional Ministry of Economy and Finance, Mikhail An, said on Thursday.
The matter concerns processing centers of totalizators and bookmakers that receive interactive bets. The marginal tax rates vary from 2,5 to 3 million rubles ($43,000 - $52,000). As for the operating facilities, the maximum size of the rates will be increased by 2 times. It is planned that as a result of these measures, additional funds in the amount of over 23 million rubles ($400,000) will be raised to the budget.
On March 29, a majority of deputies of the Moscow regional legislative body adopted amendments to the relevant law regulating the taxation of gambling in the region. The amendments will enter into force on May 1, 2018.
