On Monday, builders of the highway section of a bridge across the Kerch Strait turned on the exterior illumination of the facility, but only in a test mode so far, the media center of the Crimean Bridge reports.

As stated in the message, one of the sections of the bridge’s road has been illuminated in a test mode. Also, the media center notes that the conducted measurements showed that the highway illumination complied with the design calculations.

Illumination is provided by lanterns with a height of 9 meters which are distributed at an interval of 36 meters. Thus, all sections of the bridge's road are illuminated evenly. Another interesting innovation is in “smart” lanterns. The lights turn on in an automatic mode as soon as darkness falls and with the sunrise, they automatically turn off. In addition, the lamps are protected against the negative impact of the sea climate.
