In 2017, foreign investments in France have increased by 16%, up to the maximum level for the last ten years, according to a government report.

Efforts made by President Emmanuel Macron to attract foreign investments bear fruit. According to the French State Agency for Business, almost 1,300 foreign investment projects were announced last year, which allowed to create or save over 33 thousand jobs. In 2016, this figure amounted to over 1,100. At the same time, some 400 new companies decided to invest in France, which is a third of all projects, The Local reports.

Half of the applications dealt with completely new projects, while over 40% expect the expansion of the existing ones. The report does not say how many foreign investors left France during the same period.
