Two sections of the Belarus highway will be reconstructed by the Finnish construction company YIT. The cost of the project is estimated at 11.5 million euros, Interfax news agency reports on Monday.

In total, about 15 kilometers of road will be reconstructed to the south of the city of Gagarin and the corresponding agreement has already been signed. The Finnish company intends to embark on work this month and finish the repair of the road sections by the fall of next year. It is planned to lay out about 90,000 tons of asphalt.

The total length of the Belarus highway is 450 kilometers. It connects large industrial centers in the west of the country with border states, as well as is part of E30 European route and a transport corridor connecting the German city Berlin with the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod.
