The Russian Direct Investment Fund (the RDIF) estimates the need of the Russian infrastructure for investments within the next 3-5 years in the amount of 20-30 trillion rubles.

This is what the head of the Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, said on Monday, adding that the RDIF would play an important role in an infrastructure mortgage.

“If you look at an infrastructure segment, China invests about 10% of GDP in its infrastructure, Russia — about 3%. We believe that 5% is what needs to be invested in our infrastructure, which means the need for some 20-30 trillion rubles in the next three or five years”, Mr. Dmitriev said in an interview with Russia 24.

“The infrastructure mortgage is being discussed and the RDIF will play one of the important roles there, it is crucial that the funds not just allocated but invested effectively,” he added.
