In the Lipetsk region, Russia's first factory for the production of French fries was put into operation, Interfax news agency reported on Wednesday.




According to the agency, the total investment in the project amounted to about 8.7 billion rubles. As noted in the message, the new plant will fully satisfy the needs of the country's residents in frozen French fries. Moreover, after this enterprise is commissioned, the imported products of French fries will be completely driven out of from the market.

As early as next year, the plant will reach the full capacity and will start producing about 200,000 tons of products annually. Raw materials for production will be supplied by a specially established farm. Also, the factory plans to set up its own potato storage facility.
