Gazprom is considering cooperation with the Indian company Srei Infrastructure Finance in the oil and gas sector, the holding reported after a meeting between Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller and Srei Chairman Hemant Kanoria.
‘The parties have outlined prospects for promoting cooperation in the oil and gas sector,’ Gazprom reported on Friday.
‘Against the background of existing environmental problems, an increase in the share of “blue fuel” in the energy balance of India will no doubt play a key role. We see that natural gas in India has great prospects in various fields of usage, which opens up opportunities for the development of the partnership between Gazprom and Indian companies’, the press office of the gas holding quotes Mr. Miller as saying.
As a reference, Srei is India’s leading conglomerate engaged in the financing of infrastructure projects.
