The government of the Ulyanovsk region plans to sign an investment contract with the Japanese corporation Isuzu, which provides for the construction of a new automobile plant in the region.
This statement was made on Friday by Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov on the sidelines of the Russian-Japanese Forum.
‘We will announce the signing of an investment contract with Isuzu company in St. Petersburg. By and large, the matter concerns the construction of a large automobile plant,’ Morozov said.
The first assembly shop Isuzu Rus was launched on the premises of Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant — at present, this plot of land belongs to UAZ industrial park — in 2012 as part of a joint venture with the Sollers company.
