7 Dutch companies are suspected of participating in the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait, which is prohibited due to the current sanctions against Russia.

The prosecutor's office of the Netherlands intends to find out whether the sanction regime imposed by the European Union on the Russian Federation has been violated. According to the office, in the period from 2015 to 2017, these companies were supplying heavy equipment for construction activities on the Crimean bridge. In addition, it is claimed that these Dutch companies provided services for maintenance and repair of the supplied equipment.

If the companies' guilt is proven, they will be accused of circumventing the embargo. “The provision of goods and services in violation of European sanctions violates established international norms,” the Dutch prosecutor's office said.
