Since the beginning of this year, the Austrian OMV, which is participating in the Nord Stream 2 project, has invested €81 million in its implementation.

This was reported by Rambler News on Friday with reference to the company’s materials. The agreement on the financing of a project for the construction of a 1220-kilometer gas pipeline from Russia to Germany was concluded between Nord Stream 2 and OMV in the spring of 2017. At the same time, similar documents were signed by other foreign partners of the project - Engie, Royal Dutch Shell, Uniper and Wintershall.

The partners committed to the long-term financing of laying the pipeline in the amount of 50% of the total cost of the project. It should be noted that to date, Nord Stream 2 is estimated at €9.5 billion. Thus, each company invests about €950 million in the project.
