The date of the official opening of a bridge across the Kerch Strait will be determined according to the schedule of President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Gazeta.ru reported on Thursday with reference to its own sources.
Previously, the official opening of the Crimean bridge was scheduled for May 15, 2018. However, the newspaper notes that the date is not final and can be rescheduled for a day later. Also, President Vladimir Putin is reported to attend the event.
“Putin will definitely go to the bridge opening, most likely, it will be held next Tuesday. In the worst case, the event will be moved to a later date”, the source is quoted as saying.
On May 14, the Russian President is going to attend a summit of the Eurasian Economic Union in Sochi, and on May 18, Vladimir Putin meets with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Thus, the best date for the official opening of the Crimean bridge is either the 15th or 16th of May.
