A warehouse with an area of over 20,000 square meters was rented by the online trading platform Tmall, which is owned by the Chinese Alibaba Group, RIA Novosti news agency reports on Monday.
The facility is located in the South Gate logistics park near the Domodedovo airport in Moscow. Earlier, the company processed orders in a warehouse situated in Kotelniki. As it became known, the online retailer invested over 500 million rubles in the new Domodedovo warehouse. This decision fits into the overall strategy of the company, which intends to increase sales in Russia.
In particular, Tmall will pay special attention to the development of a logistics network in the Russian regions in order to shorten delivery times. The company plans to enter the Top 5 largest online retailers in Russia by the end of 2018.
