The Russian capital can receive the status of a resort city, with the relative deputy request sent to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports on Monday.
The author of the initiative was the head of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth Affairs, Mikhail Degtyarev. In his opinion, this measure will speed up the development of Moscow as a resort city. Degtyarev has stressed that in this way Moscow will turn into a megalopolis of the XXII century.
The deputy has noted that such large-scale international events as 2018 World Cup are yet another confirmation of the fact that Moscow has a “health specialization”.
Degtyarev explained that it is the Moscow River that can form the image of the capital as a resort, becoming its natural recreation area.
