Although Ukraine should “ruthlessly” fight against the implementation of Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project, it still has to work out a Plan “B”, Ukraine's permanent representative to the Council of Europe, Dmitry Kuleba, said in an interview to RBC Ukraine.
At the same time, Kuleba has stressed that the Ukrainian party must take into account interests of Germany and show understanding to its position.
“Nord Stream 2 is the cause for a ruthless war. Just as the Germans and the Russians are mercilessly fighting for it, so we must fight for our interest as well. But “Plan B” should be present”, he noted.
Kuleba has explained that in case of the project implementation, legal guarantees are required in the form of specific interstate agreements between Germany, Ukraine, and Russia. For example, the parties may agree on the volumes of Russian gas transported through the Ukrainian system.
