Israeli Defense Ministry approves construction of houses in West Bank

The relative committee of Israeli Ministry of Defense of Israel approved on Wednesday plans for the construction of more than 2,000 residential units in the area of the West Bank, the Times of Israel reported.




The Ministry has agreed on the construction of another 1,200 residential units which are at the stage of preliminary approval, while the construction of 775 residential property items has been finally agreed.

Last week, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said he would submit for approval by the Supreme Planning Council a project for the construction of 2,500 residential units in the district of Judea and Samaria in the West Bank.

The matter concerns the construction in such cities as Maaleh Adumim, Ariel, Kiryat Arba, as well as in the settlements of Avnee-Hefets, Talmon, Kfar Etzion and Halamish.
