The lack of paper needed for the production of travel tickets in Venezuela resulted in a fare-free traveling by metro in Caracas.
At present, turnstiles at over fifty metro stations of the city are opened for passengers. By the decision of the Caracas authorities, passengers can get to any metro station for free. Given that there are more than 2 million people who travel by metro daily.
These difficulties were caused by the suspension of the supply to Venezuela of raw materials for the manufacture of metro equipment as well as paper for travel tickets.
