Federal Air Transport Agency issued a permit to Domodedovo airport based in Moscow to open the first phase of a new segment of the passenger terminal (T2), RIA Novosti reported on Friday.
According to the airport administration, issuance of a permit for commissioning is a confirmation of the readiness of the new terminal for servicing flights. The first flight will be accepted by the terminal in the near future.
So, by 2018 World Cup, a new gallery in the T2 segment, which will host international flights, will open. The area is more than 157,000 square meters, while the capacity will exceed five million passengers per year.
It is worth noting that over the past five years, the airport has invested a total of about 43 billion rubles in the development of the complex.
