Italian police have arrested 9 people who are suspected of creating corrupt schemes connected with the construction of Roma FC stadium in the Italian capital city.
The facility worth 300 million euros will be erected in the southern part of the city, where previously a racetrack was situated. Commissioning is planned for 2020-2021.
Of the nine arrested, among whom there are both civil servants and businessmen, three are under house arrest. As noted in the Italian media, the police operation to detain the suspects was carried out just before the start of a meeting of the city council, where the plan was to be approved on the major development of the land, on which the stadium will be built.
