Next summer, the first gas supplies will go through the new gas pipeline TANAP running from Azerbaijan to Europe.
Ukraine will also be able to receive gas from TANAP, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.
“Ukraine will have the possibility to receive the blue fuel from the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline passing through Bulgaria and Romania”, the President wrote in his Twitter account. According to Poroshenko, building the pipeline that transports gas from Azerbaijan to European countries bypassing Russia means energy security for Europe.
Meanwhile, as Gazeta.ru reports referring to industry experts, the commissioning of a new gas pipeline in Turkey will not harm Gazprom's projects but is capable of violating plans for US LNG supplies to European countries.
The opening ceremony of TANAP was held on June 12, with the participation of presidents of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Serbia, and Ukraine.
