The Polish authorities insist that the European Union accelerates the elaboration of amendments to a gas regulation, the norms of which will complicate the construction of Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, the country's Deputy Minister of Energy Michal Kurtyka told Polish Radio.
Kurtyka claims that this month ambassadors of the European Union will start working with amendments to the document. “This is due to the hard, painstaking and months-long work of Polish diplomats,” the official explained.
Last year, the European Commission made a proposal to amend the document regulating the gas and electricity sectors of the EU. In case of the adoption of the amendments, all main gas pipelines on the territory of the union should be brought into line with the unified rules of the EU.
