Russia may increase financing of Crimea’s development

The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has come up with a proposal to extend the implementation of the federal action program for the development of the Crimea and Sevastopol as well as to increase its funding.




The program was launched in 2015, with 800 billion rubles ($12,7 billion) allocated for its implementation.

“The program was conceived for five years, we have prepared proposals to extend it until 2022 with an increase in financing by 37 billion rubles”, the head of the Ministry, Maxim Oreshkin, said, speaking at a meeting on social and economic development of the Crimea and Sevastopol, held by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

According to Oreshkin, the matter concerns co-financing an additional 85 facilities in the Crimea and 55 facilities in Sevastopol.
