Icelandic companies Skaginn 3X and Frost hf signed a deal with the Russian side on providing technologies and equipment for a fish processing plant in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Iceland Monitor reports.

With new technologies, the plant will be capable of sorting, processing and freezing fish. The enterprise's capacity will amount to over 500 tons of fish per day.

Icelandic companies are also involved in the construction of a processing plant for the Russian fishing company Gidrostroy in Shikotan, a large island on the Kuril Islands. Two dozens of Icelandic specialists are working on the construction of the facility, which is scheduled to be put into operation this winter.

The size of both contracts is not disclosed, but preliminary they are estimated at a total of $56-66 million.
