The construction of a new terminal at Tolmachevo Airport located in the Russian city of Novosibirsk will be carried out in two stages, the airport's general director Yevgeny Yankilevich said at the 2018 Technoprom forum on Wednesday.
“As you know, our shareholders have established a program for the construction of a new terminal with all transfer technologies, costing about 15 billion rubles. There will be two stages, the first one will cost about 10 billion rubles”, he said at the forum’s roundtable.
Mr. Yankilevich has specified that the terminal construction will begin next year. “We will have to build about 50,000 square meters by early 2022”, he pointed out. This year, the share of transfer passengers is expected to account for 22% of the total passenger flow amounting to 6 million people, while in 2030, transfer passengers will account for half of the airport's passenger traffic.
