The German company Gascade Gastransport has obtained a permit to build a section of the Eugal gas pipeline — the onshore extension of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline — in Germany's federal state of Saxony, Gascade said.

The construction of the Saxony’s section of the gas pipeline can be launched in September, the company specifies. The length of this section will amount to 52 kilometers.
“Construction of the Eugal section in Saxony can begin in September. The resolution approving the plan was handed over to Gascade on September 6, 2018. It contains all the partial permits necessary for the construction of the northern section of Eugal in Saxony”, the report said.
Earlier, Gascade obtained a permit for construction of the Eugal gas pipeline in Brandenburg. As a reference, the Eugal gas pipeline project involves building a gas pipeline with a length of about 485 kilometers running from the Baltic Sea through Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Brandenburg to the southern part of the Czech Republic.
