The government of the Russian Federation has allocated more than 11 billion rubles ($158 million) for the construction of a section of the Tavrida highway in Sevastopol, states the Cabinet’s decree on the extension of the federal target program for Crimea development.




“Construction and reconstruction of the highway Kerch - Feodosia - Belogorsk - Simferopol - Bakhchisarai - Sevastopol, 269 + 300 km to the highway Yalta-Sevastopol 7.5 km, the timing is 2015-2022, for a total amount of 11356.62 million rubles”, the document says.

The federal program for the Crimea development has been extended for two years, until 2022. The total expenses under the program have increased by 4.9% (+40,63 billion rubles), to about 877,8 billion rubles in the prices of the corresponding years.

The federal Tavrida highway with a length of more than 250 km will pass from the Crimean bridge in Kerch to Sevastopol. The total cost of the facility is 149,3 billion rubles. The general contractor of the construction of the highway with two lanes in each direction is the company VAD.

Earlier, construction works on Tavrida highway were divided into seven stages. Works within the 1st, 4th and 6th stages is the reconstruction of the existing road, while the 2nd, 3rd and 5th stages provide for the new construction of a road bypassing Feodosia, Belogorsk, and Simferopol. The seventh stage is the Sevastopol section with the length of 13,2 kilometers.
