A representative of the Russian energy giant, Gazprom, told reporters on Tuesday about the state of readiness of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline project.
The project for the construction of the Eastern gas route is being implemented jointly with the Chinese corporation CNPC. “40 kilometers are left to be welded”, Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprom, said at a meeting with reporters on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum, which is being held in Vladivostok these days.
Earlier, on September 5, the gas holding company reported that more than two thousand kilometers of pipes of the gas pipeline were welded and laid at a section from Yakutia to the border with China, which is 93% of the length of the entire Power of Siberia gas pipeline.
We should remind you that in 2014, the Russian corporation Gazprom and the Chinese CNPC signed an agreement providing for the supply of gas from Russia to China. The term of the agreement is thirty years, and the launch of the gas pipeline is scheduled for the end of next year.
