The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has supported a proposal expressed by the head of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak to create an investment fund jointly with the USA.

The fund will invest in technology projects in the energy sector, Rambler news reports on Thursday with reference to the RDIF head Kirill Dmitriev. According to him, the Russian Direct Investment Fund will take part in the project.

“RDIF supports this idea and will offer partners possible parameters of the structure to be created in the near future”, the press office of the fund quoted Dmitriev as saying.

On September 13, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak invited US Energy Secretary, Rick Perry, to create a joint investment fund for the implementation of energy projects. He has also suggested that the US restore the work of the Russian-American working group on energy within the framework of the bilateral commission.

As a reference, the Russian Direct Investment Fund is the sovereign wealth fund with $10 billion of reserved capital under management. Working together with the world’s largest investors, RDIF makes direct investments both in leading and promising Russian companies.
