Within the framework of a contract signed with the Syrian authorities, Russian investors have launched a construction project in a tourism sector.

According to the agreement, two hotels and a tourist complex worth $90 million are to be built in the coastal city of Tartus, the Tourism Minister of Syria, Bashr Yazidji, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The minister said that Russian investors had concluded contracts for 4 projects, three of which were signed before the civil war unleashed in the country.

“The last project has already started to be realized, its cost amounts to $90 million. According to the project, two hotels and a multifunctional tourist complex will be erected on the Mediterranean coast in Tartus”, the Minister said.

“Undoubtedly, priority is given to Russian investments. We know that over the course of the war, not a single investor withdrew his investments from the country”, Yazidji stressed.
