The construction of Russia's largest tennis center in Luzhniki is scheduled to be completed in the next three years, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for urban policy and construction Marat Khusnullin told reporters on Thursday.

“According to our estimates, the construction of the largest tennis center in Russia on the territory of the Luzhniki complex will take about three years, so by the end of 2021, this facility is planned to be commissioned,” Khusnullin said.

He noted that the total area of the tennis center, which includes both indoor courts and open areas, is about 50 thousand square meters. “In addition to tennis, there will be a possibility to practice badminton, squash and other sports that are popular in the country”, the Deputy Mayor stressed.

Previously, Khusnullin reported that the construction of the largest tennis club in Russia would be completed in the Luzhniki Stadium by 2020.

As a reference, a tender for the right to build a tennis club was won by OST company, which offered to perform works for 4.1 billion rubles. In addition to the courts, there will be spaces for beach tennis, gym as well as a billiard hall, and a children's club.
