Moscow revives Stalin’s high-rise construction

A new high-rise building designed in the style of Stalin's skyscrapers is planned to be erected in the capital city of Russia.




The facility will be located on Leningradsky Prospekt in Moscow. As the head of the construction department at Alcon Development, Alexey Plohoy, told the media on Tuesday, the matter concerns the building of a mixed-use complex with a total area of about 53,000 square meters. Some 4 billion rubles are expected to be invested in the implementation of the project.

At present, the developer has completed all the preparatory work and proceeded to install the pile foundation. The high-rise building is planned to be put into operation within two or three years. The project was approved by the city's Architect’s Council as early as four years ago.

The project of a new “Stalin’s high-rise” provides for the construction of a building that will house a hotel with a height of 31 floors and an office premises, which will occupy seven floors.
