A large-scale project to create an educational and cultural space on 13 kilometers of the coastline of Sevastopol will take five years and require 25 billion rubles ($380 million) of investments, the press office of the regional government reports on Wednesday.




The investment project to create a theater, educational, museum complex and a concert hall in the city was considered on Tuesday at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects.

“The first facility to be constructed is the Museum of Defense of Sevastopol of 1941-1942, and the exact amount of investments will be about 25 billion rubles”, the message reads.

The meeting considered the appeal of the Fund of Social and Cultural Projects “National Cultural Heritage” to lease three land plots with a total area of ​​18.3 hectares in the area of ​​Cape Khrustalny in Sevastopol for the construction of new cultural facilities. Founders of the fund are the Tretyakov Gallery, the Hermitage, the Mariinsky Theater and the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.
