An Ice Palace in Luzhniki Olympic Complex in Moscow is planned to be completed in early 2020, the press service of the Moscow construction complex reported.

“We are planning to complete the construction of the Ice Palace in the first quarter of 2020”, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for the construction, Marat Khusnullin, was quoted as saying in the message.

According to the document, the foundation of the Ice Palace has already been completed and the builders have also finished the concreting of the walls and columns of the underground floor. Apart from that, all communications have been replaced.

The Ice Palace will have one underground and three above-ground floors. It will house two arenas, a swimming pool, gyms and facilities for various sports sections.

As a reference, the Luzhniki Olympic Complex is one of the world’s biggest multifunctional sports complexes. The structure was built between 1955 and 1956. Formerly known as the Central Lenin Stadium, it served as the Olympic Park of the 1980 Summer Olympics.
