The building of a sports and health center will be built near Nekrasovka metro station, according to a report published today on the website of the Moscow Mayor's Office.

The new sports center will include swimming pools, gyms, and playgrounds for extreme sports. The total area of the facility will amount to 18,000 square meters, which makes it one of the largest in Moscow.

However, the peculiarity of the new 3-storey sports and health center is its design: the building will be made in the style of origami and outwardly it will resemble a paper airplane.

“The basis for the design of the building was the architectural style of origami with receptions borrowed from Japanese arts and crafts,” the chief architect of Moscow, Sergey Kuznetsov, explained.

When finishing the facade of the building, metal and panoramic glass will be used. In the dark, the facades of the building will be illuminated. Moscow City Architecture Committee has already approved the project of a new sports center, the construction of which will be launched by the investor before the end of this year.
