The regional authorities expect that the airport’s construction will positively influence the development of the logistics complex of the Kaluga region. ‘Ermolino’ airport, in the vicinity of the capital of Russia, offers an opportunity to create a large-scale cargo processing center.
To remind you, in 2014 the UTair company, the Kaluga regional government and the RF Ministry of the Interior signed an agreement on the construction of ‘Ermolino’ international airport and the reconstruction of the airfield. The project has now been put on hold. Investment in the new project is 11.3 bln rubles. The work on the construction site is planned to be completed in 2017.
