As Construction.ru was told by the Department of Presidential Affairs, the decision on the demounting of building 14 was taken in accordance with orders from RF President Vladimir Putin following all the necessary preparatory work, calculations, and consultations, including those with representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Archeology Institute and the RF Committee of UNESCO Affairs.
UNESCO has been informed about it, in line with established procedure.
To remind you, building 14 of the Moscow Kremlin is an administrative building. It is situated between the Spasskye Gates and the Senate Palace. It was constructed in 1932 – 1934 in place of the Chudov and Voznesensky monasteries and Maly Nickolaevsky Palace, broken down in 1929-1930. The building is not an architectural monument and is not included on the UNESCO world cultural heritage list.
