In 2016, more than 500 m of the historic Kremlin wall will be restored

To remind you, the total length of the Moscow Kremlin walls is 2,235 m.

So far in 2015, the restoration of the Spasskaya, Troitskaya, Corner Arsenal and Middle Arsenal Towers of the Kremlin, as well as the wall section along Neglinka up to the Troitsky Gates, has been completed.

Borovitskaya and other towers are to be restored. The modern Kremlin wall was erected during the reign of the Great Knyaz Ivan III in 1485–1495 to replace the white stone wall built in the time of the legendary Dmitry Donskoy.

The height of the wall is from 6.5 m to 19 m, and its thickness from 3.5 to 6.5 m.
